LCTV announces scholarship winners

Lockport Community Television, along with the Lockport Community Cable Commission and Time Warner Cable, announced a total of $10,800 in scholarships was disbursed among nine recipients.

Winners of this year's Anjeannte Briones scholarships for outstanding LCTV youth volunteers are Andrew Zotara and Elaine Stickney, both Lockport High School seniors looking to pursue a career in media and film.

The Gaskill/Roeseler community service award to outstanding students who volunteered their time to the community went to Leah VanDenBosch, Ian Smith and Patrick Flaherty, also from Lockport High School.

For students entering the communications field, there were four recipients of the Thomas Riley Memorial Scholarship: Nina Franco of Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, Jordyn Congelli of Newfane High School, Kavyia Spencer from Lockport High School and Rebecca Wojcinski of Mount St. Mary Academy.

Applications for 2017 will be available this fall at LCTV, online at www.lctv.net, by calling 716-434-1733 or via each student's high school guidance department. Questions may be director to LCTV's scholarship coordinator, Greg Larson.
