The Fairgrounds to award $20,000 in scholarships

The Erie County Fairgrounds continues to seek ways to foster education in local students. From the award-winning "Farm 2 Table" program to the Erie County Fair, the events held on The Fairgrounds strive to connect students with agriculture, business and volunteerism.

Annually, The Fairgrounds awards students pursuing all fields of study $20,000 in college scholarships. The 2016 scholarship applications are now available online at www.ecfair.org, or via your high school guidance counselor or college financial aid office.

The Erie County Fair scholarship seeks students who are enrolled or enrolling in a college or university. These students must have participated in the Erie County Fair in some capacity in order to be eligible. Participation includes, but is not limited to employment, exhibition, volunteering, marching band or other performances. Students do not have to attend a college in Erie County to be eligible.

The Erie County Agricultural Society scholarship is limited to students who are pursuing an agriculture-related career. Students must be enrolled or enrolling in a college or university and must be able to describe how their field of study will help them in their agricultural endeavors. Students do not have to attend a college in Erie County to be eligible.
