Free festival filled with fall fun for everyone

Artpark has announced a new fall festival, "Hay-Man Happening!" will be held from 2-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

The free event (free admission, free parking) will take place in the family area of the Outdoor Amphitheater. It promises fun and games, including hands-on art activities for children such as pumpkin painting and mask making.

Families can explore the farmers market, add their creative touches to scarecrows placed around the park, dine at food trucks (serving from 4-7 p.m.) and listen to HolKampany.

The day is highlighted by a "Scarecrow Fashion Show & Contest." All are invited to show off the finest in scarecrow fashions and walk the "Hay Runway." Judges will select one first-place winner and two honorable mentions. The competition starts at 4 p.m.

Patrons may use either the South Fourth Street entrance (park in Lot C and walk up red brick road) or the Portage Road entrance (park in Lot B and walk down red brick road or large staircase).

For more information, visit artpark.net or the Artpark Facebook page.
