Daemen College is the only institution in New York to be selected as one of the top "50 Best Value Small Colleges" in the U.S. for both business administration and biology degrees by Best Value Schools, an online guide to the best values in college education across the country.

"Daemen's rise in national rankings and reputation indicates a growing awareness of the outstanding quality of our programs, faculty and student learning experience," Daemen President Gary A. Olson said. "We are pleased to be recognized with these new top rankings that represent our steadfast commitment to academic excellence and to making an exceptional Daemen education accessible and affordable to our students."

In the 2015 listings, Daemen is ranked No. 47 among small schools in the U.S. offering a bachelor's degree in business administration, and No. 48 among institutions offering a bachelor's degree in biology.

Based on data from College Navigator that's maintained by the National Center for Education Statistics, each of the lists include top small colleges across the country with 3,000 or fewer students that offer an undergraduate degree in business administration or biology. Rankings also are based on net price, which factors in tuition, financial aid and additional expenses, and admission/selectivity rate.

"As these rankings indicate, we offer undergraduate degree programs of the highest quality at an exceptional value," said Dr. Michael Brogan, Daemen vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college. "In particular, the business administration and biology programs provide rigorous academic curriculums and a learning experience that inspires students to be successful in the classroom and in their careers."

The Best Value Schools rankings are the latest in national distinctions that laud Daemen for value and return on investment. The college was named among the top 200 private colleges in the country for best ROI in PayScale's 2015 report. It also was selected one of the "50 Most Affordable Small Colleges for a Human Resources Degree" by HumanResourcesMBA.net.
