Assemblyman John Ceretto recently continued his "Valentines for Seniors" program for the fourth straight year. This program enlists the help of students at local schools to make valentines Ceretto then distributes to senior citizens. Serena Nichols, a senior at Niagara Falls High School, coordinated this year's "Valentines for Seniors" program.

"The 'Valentines for Seniors' program is always one of my favorite parts of the year," Ceretto said. "It gives kids the opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities while enlightening Valentine's Day for our seniors.

"I thank all the students who participated in the program and look forward to doing it all over again next year. I'd also like to thank Serena Nichols for all of her hard work coordinating this program. She has a very bright future, and I'm glad to work with her."

The valentines were made by students at Lewiston-Porter Intermediate School, Ohio School in North Tonawanda, Catholic Academy of Niagara Falls and Errick Road School in Wheatfield. The students made more than 400 valentines that were distributed to North Tonawanda Meals on Wheels, the Lewiston Senior Center, the Wheatfield Senior Center, the John Duke Senior Center, Northgate Nursing Facility in North Tonawanda and Crestwood Nursing Facility in Wheatfield.
