Obit: Abigail K. Sullivan

Abigail K. Sullivan, a Grand Island resident from 1977 to 2001 passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was 90 years old.

A resident of Canton, Georgia, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dr. Herbert W. Sullivan and her son Paul H. Sullivan.

Abigail was a graduate of Salem Teachers College in Salem, Massachusetts, and taught school in Massachusetts and Long Island. She was a substitute and home school teacher for many years for the Grand Island schools. She also taught at St. Stephen School, where she and Herbert were active parish members during their time on Grand Island. Abigail also served as director of religious education for many years at St. Francis of Assisi in North Tonawanda.

Survivors include her brother, James (Leah) Connor of Hiawassee, Georgia; sons Michael W. Sullivan, Gentry, Arkansas; Brian J. Sullivan, Canton, Georgia; daughters Alice H. (Robert) Farrell, Barre, Vermont; Kathleen A. (Derek) Day, Clinton, North Carolina; daughter-in-law Judy Sullivan, Jacksonville, Florida, as well as six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
