With just two weeks left in the NBA season, the Knicks find themselves in a tight race for the last spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs. So far, the Knicks trail the Atlanta Hawks by one game. Even with the disappointing season that no one saw coming, the Knicks still have the opportunity to save their season with a playoff berth.

The task won't be easy but the Knicks' final six games are all against playoff teams in the Eastern Conference. The Atlanta Hawks face five playoff teams for their final 10 games. It seems as if the Knicks have an uphill battle being that they not only trail the Hawks by two games in the 'loss' column, but the Hawks also own the tie breaker.

If the Knicks are able to rally and make the playoffs with the top seeded Indiana Pacers on a free fall, who knows what can happen once the playoffs roll around. With new team President Phil Jackson on board, the Knicks could have a miracle playoff run reminiscence of their run in 1999. Coming off a lockout shortened season, the Knicks made the playoffs on the last day of the regular season. They later went on to defeat previous rival team Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.

With their Hall of Fame star Patrick Ewing injured for the playoff season, the Knicks did what no one thought they could do which was making an improbable run to the NBA Finals. They would later lose to the San Antonio Spurs.

The stars would have to align perfectly for the Knicks to make the playoffs, but as Kevin Garnett said only a few years ago, "Anything is possible".

The playoffs begin April 19.
