The Niagara Wheatfield Football Booster Club (Niagara Wheatfield Football Families Association) is presently having a fundraiser to raise approximately $10,000 to cover the cost of helmets and uniforms for the high school varsity and junior varsity football teams.

In an effort to raise the necessary funds so that the athletes have adequate protective equipment, the Booster Club is providing a 4-foot by 8-foot banner that will be displayed at their football field for the upcoming season for all contributing sponsors of $350 or more. Anyone interested in helping to support the student athletes should contact Lorna Tilley-Peltier, NWFFA fundraiser coordinator, at [email protected].

Louise Van Wart, manager of the RealtyUSA, 3195 Niagara Falls Blvd., in Wheatfield, made a donation to help the Falcons replace their outdated equipment and encourages other businesses to do so also.

"We diligently try to support our youth here in Western N.Y. We have sponsored the Little League Billboard program in North Tonawanda for many years and have run a college scholarship program for graduating high school seniors for the past 18 years. We feel that it is important for local business to reach out and help support local non-profit organizations," she said.
