YMCA Camp Kenan is offering two weeks of competitive swimming camps to encourage youth from across Niagara County to safely enjoy water activities and swimming.

YMCA Camp Kenan Swim Camp is held in Barker at YMCA Camp Kenan in a large, outdoor in-ground swimming pool. The camp sessions are a mix between competitive swimming, stroke progression, pool games to work on swimming skills, and out-of-water conditioning. Certified YMCA swim lesson instructors, youth swimming coaching staff, and YMCA lifeguards will provide instruction for registered campers.

YMCA Camp Kenan Swim Camp sessions are scheduled from Aug. 19-23 and 26-30. They are priced at $100 per week for a Lockport Family YMCA member and $175 per week for a non-member. Parents interested in signing their children up for the swim camp can do so at the Lockport Family YMCA or by calling 716-434-8887. All campers should be able to easily complete the 50 freestyle prior to registering for these sessions.

Lunch is also included with registration fee for each participant and, if needed, there is also a bus that travels from the Lockport Family YMCA to YMCA Camp Kenan daily, as well as early and late hours.

For more than 110 years the YMCA has been a leader in aquatics and water safety. Many parents chose the YMCA as their child's introduction to water because of the safe and fun atmosphere of its aquatics programs. And, to ensure that all youth have the chance to experience camp, YMCA Camp Kenan offers financial assistance and camp scholarships to those in need.
