About 30 members of the Niagara-Wheatfield girls swimming and diving team volunteered their time the morning of Sept. 22 to assist in the Hospice Dash 5K Race and the Mighty Niagara Half Marathon in Youngstown. They were responsible for the last water station on the course and helping the race participants navigate through the final mile of the course through Four Mile Creek State Park.

"The kids seemed to really enjoy cheering on the participants and they had a great time despite the less that wonderful weather. We heard some great compliments from the runners that the energy of the team (helped) push them to the finish line," said N-W counselor/swim coach Sean O'Brien.
