Niagara Pride announced the return of four LGBTQ+ events in WNY for 2023, with a focus on LGBTQ+ health, businesses, inclusion and community.

•The WNY LGBTQ+ health and wellness fair is designed to bring awareness to the LGBTQ+ community about local providers that offer various health and wellness services (physical, mental health, recovery, legal, housing, etc.), which are LGBTQ+ specific and/or affirming. Vendors will be on hand to share information about their programs as well as information impacting the overall health and wellness of the LGBTQ+ community.

This free event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 25, at the Niagara County Community College Main Gym, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road, Sanborn.

Any community service provider wishing to be a vendor can complete the online application at https://forms.office.com/r/Jx9fxStuYd. Only 50 total vendor spots are available this year.

•“WNY Shopping with Pride” is a unique fundraiser campaign for Niagara Pride, which not only serves to help raise funds to support local LGBTQ+ programs and services, but also highlights and celebrates locally owned and operated LGBTQ+ and ally businesses and merchants. Last year, this campaign was able to showcase over 30 different local businesses.

Organizers said, “Not only was it a successful fundraiser for Niagara Pride, but it was an incredible opportunity to highlight the importance of supporting locally LGBTQ+ and ally owned merchants and businesses. It is a demonstration of how diversity only serves to strengthen and enrich the tapestry of the Western New York communities where we live, work and play.”

“WNY Shopping with Pride 2023” will last the entire month of June. Businesses wishing to be part of this campaign and/or wanting more information can complete the online registration at www.whyshoppingwithpride.org. Niagara Pride is asking interested merchants to register by April 30.

•The WNY Pride 5K is back and this year… and it’s in person! NCCC will be the host site for the event on Saturday, May 20. Registration for the event will be online. Information regarding registration fees, course details, and event time will be posted as soon as its available. Follow Niagara Pride on Facebook or via its www.niagarapride.org for event details.

A press release stated, “Niagara Pride encourages everyone in the WNY community, all ages, all fitness levels, to come participate and show your support for the LGBTQ+ community.”

•Buffalo Sports and Pride Virtual Auction is a unique online event with a Buffalo sports theme.

On March 27, the Buffalo Sabres will host Pride Night. This yearly event is a way for the Sabres and the NHL to celebrate diversity, equity, inclusion and unity by hosting members and supporters from the LGBTQ+ community.

To celebrate Pride Night and build on the theme of LGBTQ+ inclusion, not only in sports, but in the WNY community, Niagara Pride is hosting this month-long online auction. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will go to fund Niagara Pride's 2023 programming and events. The auction will feature autographed Sabres jerseys, hockey sticks, pucks, Buffalo Bills autographed memorabilia, and other items.

The Buffalo Sports and Pride Virtual Auction will run from March 1-31. To access the auction, go to www.32auctions.com/buffalosportsandpride.
