The Historical Society of the Tonawandas’ December program and holiday party will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Guests will meet and celebrate 115 years of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. OLC is located at the corner of Oliver and Center streets in North Tonawanda. Use the Center Street door to enter.

Keynote speaker Valerie Cronin grew up across the street from OLC with her parents and two brothers, and it was the site of her wedding. She will point out the beauty of the structure and her life involving the church. Emphasis will be on her own personal experiences in the church community and Polish Christmas traditions.

Cronin is retired from a career in health care administration. She currently serves on the board of the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier and is vice president of the board of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas.

This month’s refreshments will be served in the parish hall. Coffee and tea are included.

All are welcome. For further information, contact Alice Roth at 716-692-6059.

Additional holiday activities include the Long Homestead at 24 E. Niagara St., Tonawanda. The site has been decorated by the Garden Club of the Tonawandas and is open from 1-3:30 p.m. Sundays through Dec. 22.
