Impact Sports Performance powered by UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine introduces robust integration model

Pegula Sports & Entertainment and UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine today announced the expansion of training at LECOM Harborcenter through Impact Sports Performance powered by UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. UBMDOSM will take over ownership of Impact and will implement a more robust clinical-performance integration model that builds off a history of excellent strength and conditioning, while leveraging its strong clinical resources.

“UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine will greatly improve the level of health and fitness coaching that is available at our facility,” said LECOM Harborcenter General Manager Jason Long. “The UBMDOSM staff excels in communicating with athletes and ensuring they benefit from truly athlete-centered programs. Their proven track record and expertise will make a major difference in the development of athletes at LECOM Harborcenter.”

“We’re very excited to grow our ongoing relationship with Pegula Sports & Entertainment by expanding the training methods at Impact Sports Performance powered by UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine,” said Brian DeLuca, PT, MBA, CSCS, CAFS, director of physical therapy and new director of Impact Sports Performance. “We are always looking for ways to better serve professional, college, high school, club teams and the entire athletic community. Bringing our clinical-performance training model into LECOM Harborcenter is a great opportunity for us to expand our footprint.”

UBMDOSM serves as team doctors for the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, Bandits and Rochester Americans, along with the UB Bulls and several local college teams. UBMDOSM will now expand its front-line athletic training to the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, Academy of Hockey and the general public who train year-round at LECOM Harborcenter. Additionally, UBMDOSM will work alongside The Academy to create and implement elite level training and development programs both on and off the ice.
