Stephen Curry, Tony Romo & Justin Timberlake headline all-star field at 2019 American Century Championship

NBC Sports Group will provide comprehensive on-air and digital coverage of the nation’s premier celebrity golf tournament – the American Century Championship – celebrating its 30th anniversary and taking place at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe. A field of 93 participants from the world of sports and entertainment will compete in the three-day tournament, one of the longest-running, made-for-television events.

NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) will air the opening round on Friday, July 12, in primetime from 10 p.m. to midnight ET, followed by coverage on NBC from 3-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry, Grammy Award-winning musician Justin Timberlake and four-time NFL Pro-Bowler/CBS Sports NFL analyst and defending champion Tony Romo headline the star-studded field at the American Century Championship.

Curry, who finished fourth in both 2013 and 2017, will make his seventh appearance. Timberlake will be making his fourth appearance, while Romo, who captured the title in 2018 after finishing second three times (2009-11), will make his sixth appearance.

Joining them in the 93-player field are eight Pro Football Hall-of-Famers including Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, Terrell Davis, Jerry Rice, Brian Urlacher, Charles Woodson and Steve Young; six MLB Hall-of-Famers, including Tom Glavine, Trevor Hoffman, Greg Maddux, Ivan Rodriguez, Ozzie Smith and John Smoltz; NBA Hall-of-Famers Ray Allen and Charles Barkley; NHL Hall-of-Famer Mike Modano; and actors/comedians Larry the Cable Guy, Alfonso Ribeiro, Rob Riggle and Ray Romano. NBC’s “Today” host and meteorologist Dylan Dreyer and Golf Channel host/2015 Miss America Kira Kazantsev are making their American Century Championship debuts, joining NBC Sports’ Kathryn Tappen and Golf Channel’s Lisa Cornwell as the female competitors in the American Century Championship field. Dreyer also is scheduled to report for “Today” on-site from Edgewood Tahoe during the week.

In addition, 18 first-time participants will be compete in the American Century Championship, including Josh Allen, Jay Bilas, Andy Dalton, Kyle Fuller, Travis Kelce, Anthony Lynn, Joe Mauer, Matt Nagy, Jordy Nelson, Kyle Rudolph, Tyler Seguin, Shane Victorino, Mike Vrabel, Eric Weddle, Kyle Williams and Jerry Woods.

The networks within NBC Sports Group and NBCUniversal television and digital properties will provide weeklong comprehensive coverage of the American Century Championship.
