The NTHS Multi-Class Reunion Organization awarded the Gene Donner Memorial Scholarship to graduating seniors who are active in school and community activities, and who have also been accepted to an accredited college or university.

This year’s recipients include Michael Finn, who will attend Alfred State College. Finn was active in several sports, including track and cross country, as well as participating in the National Honor Society and as an Eagle Scout. Finn volunteers at his church and in the community.

Bailey Walter seeks to continue her education and become an advocacy attorney, ensuring people with disabilities get the services they need. Walter was active in the Drama Club, Academy of Business and Finance and several other school organizations. She received several awards, including the New York State Assembly Citation for volunteer service and the YWCA Youth of the Year award.

Natalie Lemanski said her ultimate goal is to become a physician’s assistant. Lemanski is a varsity cheerleader, played varsity lacrosse and participated in the Academy of Health Sciences. Lemanski added that she is honored and proud to say she will be the first student from her school to wear the cord representing the Academy of Health Sciences.

Paul Orrange will attend SUNY at Binghamton in the fall to pursue a degree as a biomedical engineer. Orrange participated in the Academy of Engineering and Architecture, Drama Club, several bands, as well as swimming, track and field, Boy Scouts and his church choir. One of Orrange’s goals when searching for a college was to find a college with biomedical engineering, along with a strong music program. He said he wants to grow as a creative engineer and as a musician.

The NTHS Multi-Class Reunion will hold its 17th annual picnic on July 14 at Gratwick Hose picnic grounds located on Ward Road in North Tonawanda. This year, the Class of 1964 will be the host. Invitations will go out shortly. Those who do not receive an invitation and would like to attend can contact Angie Bernas at [email protected], or call 693-2422.
