'Jeopardy!' contestant James Holzhauer breaks his own record for single-game cash winnings with $131,127

James Holzhauer, a 34-year-old professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, won Wednesday’s episode of “Jeopardy!” with a total of $131,127, breaking his own record for single-day cash winnings. His previous record of $110,914 in a single game was set just eight days ago, on April 9.

Holzhauer has been a question-answering machine, and is using the “Daily Double” and “Final Jeopardy!” to his advantage, waging tens of thousands of dollars.

The win was the 10th in a row for Holzhauer, whose total winnings now stand at $697,787.

Tune in Thursday to see if he can extend his streak to 11.

The “Jeopardy!” 35th anniversary season premiered Sept. 10, 2018. With a weekly audience of 23 million viewers, it is the top-rated quiz show on television, and has received numerous awards and honors.
