The EMS program, taught by Sara McCartin at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center, had a very informative day recently at the Mercy Flight facility division headquarters in Batavia.
The students spent time with the ground ambulances and the helicopter and flight crew.
“They were able to spend the day looking at the tools of the trade, asking questions and seeing what some of the opportunities that are available to them should they want to pursue a career in EMS,” said McCartin.
Mercy Flight in Batavia serves all of Genesee County, the Village of Springfield, Town of Concord, Niagara County and surrounding areas. Mercy Flight responds to over 6,000 requests of service each year.
