Fashion design students help bling out prom shopping

The students in Debbie Wilczak’s fashion design/interior decorating program recently had a chance to help out a local business and get their schoolmates ready for prom.

Melissa Niver, owner of Bling! in Lockport, brought in an assortment of prom dresses, shoes and accessories for students at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center to purchase for prom. Everything was priced $24.99 and below to help the students get ready for their big day.

The fashion design/interior decorating students lent a hand working with the customers choosing a dress, assisting them in the dressing room, suggesting alterations and helping measure for tuxedos.

“It was a great opportunity for the students to practice their selling techniques and customer service,” said Wilczak.  “It was very generous for Ms. Niver to help the students purchase prom dresses and accessories for a very reasonable price.”
