As part of an ongoing service project, seventh- and eighth-grade students from Holy Ghost Lutheran School volunteered at Elderwood Assisted Living Facility.
Students spent time with residents playing cards, LEGOs and pool. Students were able to experience first-hand what it feels like to make a difference in someone’s life.
This “field trip” experience emulates scripture (1 Peter 4:10) taught in the classrooms: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Holy Ghost Lutheran School is a nationally accredited preschool through grade eight school program and is located in Wheatfield. Through teaching and experiences, students learn to value the experience of serving others.
