NCTEC cosmetology students impress with creative and sophisticated styles

Thu, Mar 28th 2019 01:20 pm

Students in Jill Beatty’s, Cathy Bonaccorso’s and Pauline Carney’s cosmetology programs at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center put on an impressive runway show recently.

The students in all of the classes competed in three categories: fantasy look, evening look, and braiding and extensions. The students paired up with one as the operator, who created the style, and the other being the model.

Local beauty professionals judged the competition and the students showed off their creative designs to an appreciative audience at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center.

Congratulations were extended to:

Fantasy: First place – Savannah Bigelow (operator/North Tonawanda) and Arianna Moss (model/Niagara-Wheatfield); second place – Faith Stiverson (operator/Niagara Falls) and Kanarah Jenkins (model/Niagara Falls); and third place – Emma Gast (operator/Wilson) and Sydney Barry (model/Wilson).

Evening: First place – Emeila Seiferth (operator/Starpoint) and Natalie Wagner (model/Newfane); second place – Karissa Wilson (operator/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Hayleigh Lackas (model/Niagara Falls); third place – Heidi Baxter (operator/Niagara-Wheatfield) and Kaitlyn Kulesza (model/Lewiston-Porter); and fourth place – Rojanea Brown (operator/Niagara Falls) and Kylie Clark (model/North Tonawanda).
