Thu, Jan 17th 2019 01:45 pm

The Niagara County Community College nursing program routinely ranks above state and national averages for pass rates on the National Council License Examination for both registered nurses and practical nurses.

In 2018, NCCC nursing graduates achieved a 90-percent pass rate for the NCLEX-RN, above the state pass rate of 87.42 percent and the national pass rate of 88.03percent. For the NCLEX-PN, NCCC graduates achieved a 100-percent pass rate, far surpassing the state rate of 79.07 percent, or the national rate of 85.93 percent.

The NCLEX exams assist in determining whether or not a candidate is prepared for entry-level nursing practice following the completion of an accredited nursing degree, and all nurses must pass the NCLEX exam in order to receive a nursing license. Following the successful completion of the NCLEX exam, nurses may begin work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, physicians’ offices, nursing homes, schools, and public health agencies.
