7th annual Spice Creek Thanksgiving 5K

Thu, Nov 15th 2018 11:45 am
This Thanksgiving, the public is encouraged to the seventh annual Spice Creek Thanksgiving 5K. The event, which begins at 9 a.m., is used as a way to celebrate blessings with neighbors, family and friends before relaxing and enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday.
Runners (or walkers) will meet at the corner of Spice Creek and Colin Court, nearest to Shawnee Road. There is no registration or fees. It isn't a race, but times will be recorded for those interested. Attendees are encouraged to bring family and friends. Those who can not walk or run the 5K are encouraged to come sit outside and cheer the participants on - rain (or snow) or shine.
This year, the race is collecting optional donations for the Adopt-A-Family program at Niagara-Wheatfield High School, which makes the holidays a little brighter for some close community members. Cash or checks payable to N-W Activities Fund will be accepted.
