Recently, the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas named KeyBank its Business of the Year and Jean Harmon its Citizen of the Year.
KeyBank's roots in New York state trace back to 190 years. For more than 25 years, they have been proud to be part of the Tonawandas, serving clients and the community through four branches located at:  1071 Payne Ave., 100 River Road, 1930 Niagara Falls Blvd. and 2030 Sheridan Drive.  Over the years, KeyBank's mission of helping the communities they serve thrive, has come to life through their support of various charitable causes and organizations in the Tonawandas.
Each year during KeyBank's "Neighbors Make the Difference Day," their employees have given their time to volunteer at many organizations in the community, including Heritage Christian Home, the YWCA, the Herschell Carousel Factory Museum, and Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.  In addition to supporting events like the Gateway Harbor Park Concerts and other community activities, Keybank is a sponsor of the Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas and believe in its mission of creating economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for all.
Harmon has served on many boards in the community and received many awards and honors.  She was vice president of William G. Harmon Plumbing and Heating.  She served as an executive secretary and administrative assistant to the mayors in the City of Tonawanda.  She also worked as a legislative aid to Erie County Legislator Michele Iannello.
Harmon is currently a member of the board of directors of the Community Science Resources Committee. She is also a member of the City of Tonawanda Housing Authority board of directors, serving as vice chairman and member of the Board of Managers of Ken-Ton YMCA. Harmon is also a member of the Tonawanda Main Street Historic Preservation and Design Committee. She also was president of the YWCA of the Tonawandas from 1995-1999.  Harmon received many awards such as the 1991 Recipient Woman of the Year Award from the Amherst Business and Professional Women's Association, and the 1999 YWCA of the Tonawandas Volunteer of the Year award.
