The following is a list of events at the North Tonawanda Public Library:
Paws for Reading program at NT Library
The North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive, recently announced the return of its Paws for Reading program for children in grades K-6. Children may practice their reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a certified therapy dog.  The library was also excited to introduce its new friend Timmy, the pug.
Join the library on the second Sunday and the last Sunday of each month beginning Sundays, Oct. 14 and 28, Nov. 11,  and Dec. 9 and 30 from 1 -2:45 p.m. This time includes a flexible 15-minute break for Timmy. One can sign up for a 15-minute session by calling the library.
This is an opportunity for children who are reluctant readers, reluctant about dogs, or just love to read and be with Timmy.
The library requests parents of children ages 10 and younger to stay in the library.  Register by calling the library at 693-4132,  ext. 5 or emailing [email protected],  and make sure you receive a confirmation email.
Veterans Day at the movies at NT Library
Join the North Tonawanda Public Library for Veterans Day at the movies on the big screen at the library at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11.  Bob Parr (Mr. Incredible) is left to care for the kids while Helen (Elastigirl) is out saving the world. This movie is rated PG for thematic elements including bullying, and some mild language. It is an hour and 58 minutes long.
This program is open to all ages. Parents are requested to accompany children under 12.  Popcorn will be served.  No registration required.  This movie is free to the public and the library encourages everyone to enjoy the experience.  In consideration of others, please use quiet voices and manners.  For more information, call the library at 693-4132, ext. 5.
Lego Club at the NT Library
Children in first grade and up can join the North Tonawanda Public Library for another year of LEGO Club.  Registration fills quickly for the LEGO Club each month.  The next meeting of the club will be from 4-5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.  The children will build on a different theme each month.
This month's theme is volcanoes destroy with their molten lava, spewing across regions, or they sleep for many years and people forget their destructiveness.  All supplies will be provided; children only need to bring their imagination and creativity to each session.
Registration for residents of North Tonawanda, Wheatfield, or Pendleton is required by phone or in person at the library, or by email to [email protected]. Make sure a confirmation email is received.  The library requests that parents of children ages 10 and younger stay in the library.
