Five new Distinguished Student Scholarship recipients will be showcased at the annual NCCC Foundation Scholarship Gala on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute.
This award is the most prestigious scholarship offered by the NCCC Foundation to incoming freshman. It provides two years of tuition-free education to deserving students. Individuals are selected based on their academic excellence, service to the community, and loyalty to Niagara County.
"Thank you for all the effort and dedication you have invested to make this scholarship possible," said Morgan Sczcepaniak of Barker. Receiving this scholarship makes me proud to carry the NCCC name with me wherever I go with honor. Your investment in me will not be wasted."
Recipient William Briggs added, "Your generosity and commitment to NCCC and its students is commendable. I am extremely grateful for this scholarship and the opportunities it will bring me."
During the 2017-18 academic year, more than $175,000 was awarded to nearly 200 deserving students. Visit the NCCC website at www.niagaracc.suny.edu/scholarships for a full listing of available scholarships. The deadline to apply for spring 2019 is Friday, Oct. 12.
In addition to private and corporate donations, scholarship opportunities are supported by the annual NCCC Foundation Scholarship Gala, the single largest fundraiser for student scholarships. Event tickets are $125 per person. NCCC culinary and pastry arts students will prepare dishes from around the world. To purchase tickets or make reservations, visit the NCCC Foundation website at www.niagaracc.suny.edu/foundation/gala.html or call the office at 716-614-5910.
