Locations to volunteer time, talents and resources
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar locations throughout the Buffalo area will celebrate National Good Neighbor Day by assisting local organizations within their communities. Throughout the month of September, Applebee's employees will participate in various supply drive and volunteer opportunities to help make a positive impact in the communities that they serve and to honor the holiday, which takes place on Sept. 28.
"We are excited to announce that we will once again be celebrating 'National Good Neighbor Day,' said Stephanie Griffin, director of marketing and public relations, T.L. Cannon Companies, the local franchisee. "We take great pride in how passionate our team members are when it comes to making a difference in the lives of our guests and in the greater Applebee's communities, and we are looking forward to working closely with some amazing organizations to continue helping our neighbors this year."
Established in 1978, "National Good Neighbor Day" recognizes the importance of good neighbors and serves as a day of gratitude and community building. Neighbors are encouraged to become involved by writing "Thank you" notes, delivering baked goods and performing various acts of kindness throughout their neighborhood.
Volunteer teams will donate time and supplies to the following local organization:
•Applebee's of Amherst will volunteer at the Jewish Community Center's after care kids' program on Sept. 28. Applebee's team members will set up an ice cream bar for the kids to enjoy from 3:30-5 p.m.
•Applebee's of Lancaster will host a "Superheroes Serve Stacks Breakfast" to benefit the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital of Buffalo and the Super Hero Alliance from 8-10 a.m. Sept. 29. Tickets can be purchased at the restaurant for $8.
•Applebee's of Hamburg will volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 to aid in the organization's mission to improve the health and well-being of local children.
•Applebee's of Olean will collect pantry items for the Harvest Field Café Community Food Kitchen throughout the month of September. The team will deliver the donations and serve lunch at the Soup Kitchen on Sept. 28.
Participating WNY Applebee's locations include: Amherst, Batavia, Buffalo, Blasdell, Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Dunkirk, Jamestown, Lockport, Niagara Falls, Olean, West Seneca and Williamsville. The Buffalo support office also will be partaking.
T.L. Cannon considers its commitment to the community and neighborhoods a foundation of its business - offering a variety of fundraising and incentive programs for schools, youth sports teams, firefighters and other nonprofit organizations. This includes companywide fundraisers for both the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics of New York State.
