Carousel Society names new executive director

The board of trustees of the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier recently announced that it has hired Megan Hahin as its new executive director as of Sept. 1. The society operates the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda.
Hahin was the education director for the Carrousel Museum for the past three years. In that position she has helped to build the museum's educational programming with a focus on STEM. She earned several awards for the museum's Educational Programming, including "Engaging Communities" award for its STEM programming from the Museum Association of New York; the "Excellence in Collaboration Award" from the Erie County Association of School Boards for a collaboration with the Tonawanda City School District, and the "Daniel B. Niederlander Award" from the Buffalo History Museum for educational programming.
Hahin graduated from the Museum Studies Master's program at Buffalo State College, and has a bachelor of arts in history from Niagara University. She formerly worked as an assistant curator at the Karpeles Manuscript Library and curator at the Steel Plan Museum of Western New York.
The board of trustees anticipates that Megan's creativity and other talents will serve the Carrousel Museum well into the future, and looks forward to working with her in this new position. 
The Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, operated by the Carousel Society of the Niagara Frontier, is a premier national historic site and community resource for family recreation and learning that fosters an appreciation for the unique heritage of the carousel and related industries in the Niagara Region.
