On Thursday, Niagara-Wheatfield High School hosted their second college signing day of the year. Several student-athletes who made their college decision following the February signing were honored by N-W Athletic Director Matt McKenna. In all, five students signed in front of their peers, while one student was absent.
McKenna praised the effort of the student-athletes and welcomed them to come back and visit.
"This is really the fun part of the job - seeing the success of our seniors and how hard they've worked, not only for these past four years, but throughout their years. ... Like I've always said to remember your roots. Come back and visit at any time. We love to hear some of your successes or even some of the trials you may be having to prepare our new kids that are coming down the pipeline to prepare them for any other situations," McKenna said.
McKenna also announced that the athletic program was honored at the Niagara Frontier League banquet with the 2017-18 Sportsmanship School of the Year.
