Fri, May 4th 2018 11:30 am
The Chamber of Commerce of the Tonawandas invites all to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Tonawandas heritage tour, which features 26 historical landmarks.
The ribbon-cutting will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in the middle of the Renaissance Bridge, connecting Webster and Main streets. A reception following the ceremony will be held at Webster's Bistro patio, 102 Webster St. All are welcome to attend.
Discover the rich heritage of the Tonawandas through this driving/walking tour. At each location, attendees will be able to listen to an online narrative, describing the history of that particular site. Many of the locations will offer the opportunity to get out and explore.
This project was funded from the William G. Mayne Business Community Enhancement Program. Project partners include Chairman of the Niagara County Legislature Keith McNall, Niagara County Manager Richard Updegrove and General Manager of the Niagara Falls Bridge Commission Kenneth Bieger.
The chamber thanks the late Sam Ferraro, commissioner of the Niagara County Economic Development, for his years of support to the BECP and many other projects while serving over 40 years.
