Current schedule available at www.JingleFallsUSA.com
The countdown has begun for downtown Niagara Falls' Jingle Falls USA, a new collaborative holiday celebration taking place on Saturdays, Dec. 2, 9 and 16. With multiple activities happening each day, Jingle Falls USA has planned something for guests of all ages.
Highlighting the first day, the City of Niagara Falls is hosting its first-ever candlelight stroll on Dec. 2. The event is free and open to the public. Guests are asked to assemble at Niagara Falls City Hall (745 Main St.) at 4:30 p.m., where candles will be distributed.
The group will start the stroll promptly at 5 p.m. and follow a route down Main Street to Third Street, where they will enjoy caroling by Niagara Falls City School District students. The group will end at Seneca Square (in front of the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino), at approximately 6 p.m., for the official holiday tree-lighting ceremony. The tree-lighting ceremony will feature live music by national recording artist Michael Cavanaugh, who is performing the songs of Billy Joel that evening inside the Bear's Den, and mark the official illumination of trees down Old Falls Street and Third Street. A fireworks display will follow.
After the fireworks, guests are encouraged to enjoy the outdoor movie "Elf" on Old Falls Street, the Holiday Marketplace inside The Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls, the Gingerbread Wonderland activities inside the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, and multiple dining options throughout the downtown Niagara Falls area.
In addition, free shuttles will be provided to and from City Hall throughout the evening so guests have the ability to park at either the beginning or end points of the candlelight stroll, while still allowing time to enjoy other Jingle Falls USA activities that evening.
"Although there is much to do on our first Jingle Falls USA evening of activities, there is much more planned that will entice guests back again and again," said Jason Murgia, Old Falls Street's general manager. "There is truly something for everyone, including shopping, live music, traditional holiday activities, food and beverage offerings, demonstrations, sporting events, outdoor movies, evening illuminations and fireworks, tons of photo opportunities, chances to win prizes and more"
