Netflix has finally released the long awaited trailer for the second season of "Orange Is the New Black." The trailer was released in early February. The trailer shows some of the original characters from the first season as well as a new face in an orange jumpsuit. The trailer was just that, a teaser. With no words being spoken, dramatic music and close-ups set the stage for a thrilling new season that many are excited for. Anastaisha Hayes, a fan of the first season, says, "I can't wait for the new season to come out. The new character will hopefully bring a new story and make the show even better than it was the first season."

The critically acclaimed series "Orange Is the New Black" follows the story of Piper Chapman, a bisexual woman in her 30's who is sentenced to 15 months in prison after being convicted of a decade-old crime of transporting money for her drug-dealing girlfriend. After she is sentenced and given her bunk, she meets some of the other women at the prison, Litchfield Women's Correctional Facility, located in Litchfield, N.Y.

While doing time in the prison, she comes back into contact with Alex, her girlfriend whom got her into the situation in the first place. She also encounters other women doing time for different reasons. The series progresses and the audience, as well as Piper, learns more about the hierarchy that is the inner workings of the prison amongst the inmates.

The show, created by Jenji Kohan, who is also known for shows such as "Weeds" and "The Stones", was nominated for 11 different awards.  The show won four of these nominations, including TV Program of the Year at the AFI Awards, the People's Choice Award for Favorite Streaming Series, Best Ensemble at the Satellite Awards, as well as a 3rd place award at the Key Art Awards for Best Trailer- Audio and Visual.

The series is based on the memoir "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison", written by Piper Kerman, which tells of her experiences in prison. The series was released as a straight to web 13 episode series on Netflix. The series was originally released on July 11.  Netflix renewed the show for a second season in June, right before the original premier of the show. The premier of the second season is set for June 6.
