Delta Air Lines conference lands in Niagara Falls

Delta Airlines to host Africa/Middle East sales conference Oct. 8-11

TheNiagara Tourism & Convention Corp. announced Monday Delta Air Lines will hold its Africa/Middle East sales conference in Niagara Falls Oct. 8 through 11. The group will attend seminars, plus team-building exercises that will showcase the region.

The conference will bring 75 of Delta's top general sales agents from Africa and the Middle East, plus Delta executives, to Niagara Falls. The conference will be held at the Sheraton at the Falls. The group will experience the attractions at Niagara Falls State Park, taste local cuisine and take advantage of shopping opportunities, in addition to a corporate meeting with Delta executives.

"We are pleased to see that Niagara USA is appealing to Delta Air Lines' top employees, and that they chose us as their fall meeting destination," said John Percy, president and CEO of NTCC. "I am confident this international audience will share what Niagara USA has to offer to their clients when they return home."

During their stay, Delta employees will have the chance to explore the region, including a ride on the Maid of the Mist, Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours, explore Cave of the Winds and Niagara Falls State Park. They will also experience top dining at The Como Restaurant and dinner at Becker Farms/Vizcarra Vineyards. The group will also spend an afternoon at the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA.

"Delta is putting a lot of emphasis on New York state and we feel that Niagara Falls is the perfect location to hold a corporate meeting with our executives," said Tim Lotter, manager of GSA and international sales development. "Our group consists of several top travel company sellers from the Africa/Middle East regions, and our hope is for them to further promote the Niagara Falls area as a travel destination."

Delta Air Lines serves more than 160 million customers each year. Delta was named domestic "Airline of the Year" by the readers of Travel Weekly magazine, was named the "Top Tech-Friendly U.S. Airline" by PCWorld magazine for its innovation in technology, and won the Business Travel News Annual Airline Survey.
