Local businesses contribute to sponsor event
The Grand Island Chamber of Commerce Island Happenings - KidBiz and Business Expo Event will be held on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lawn of the Town Commons.
The Chamber of Commerce has acknowledged three sponsors for their support of the annual event.
Tom Kanaley, general manager of Fuccillo Chevrolet, and his team, pictured above, left, are showing support for this fun community event by taking on a silver sponsorship.
The chamber also thanked Grand Island's local banks, KeyBank and M&T Bank for showing their continued community involvement by taking on a bronze sponsorship along with Grand Lady Cruises and Carol Ann's Hair Fashion.
Island Happenings includes several events happening all at the same time. KidBiz, Business Expo and a hot dog scholarship fund-raiser sale all run concurrently and will show off Grand Island's best.
The Business Expo allows venders and businesses to have the chance to network and promote their local business to the community, while the KidBiz program shows student in grades 2 through 8 just what it takes to run a business. The kids come up with their own ideas for a product to market and sell at the Island Happenings event. The hot dog fundraiser sale will go toward a scholarship fund. Again this year the chamber is thankful to Theodore's as it is stepping up and donating all of the hot dogs, while Sam's Club in Niagara Falls is donating all of the pop and water to be sold at the event.
Call the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce office at 773-3651 for questions about becoming a sponsor or participating in KidBiz.
Niagara Frontier Publications has taken a platinum sponsorship for Island Happening.
