Mrs. Percival's third grade class at Huth Road Elementary School recently created nine fleece blankets for Project Linus as an end of the year community service project. Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are undergoing some kind of trauma in their lives.

"Children helping children is a very powerful thing," says Mrs. Percival. "My students are learning that there are other children in our community who are not as fortunate as they are or who are having a hard time with their health or well being."

This is Percival's second year doing this community service project and she hopes that it will continue for many more years. Students were asked to send in monetary donations in lieu of an end of the year gift for their teacher.

Percival sends her thanks to all the parents who donated their time and money to complete this project.

"I think I have the best third-grade class in the world," says Percival. "They are so kind and give of themselves and truly care about the well being of others. I really hope this stirs a desire to continue to serve others in our community and around the world as they grow! We hope that the recipients of these blankets can feel our love when they cuddle up with them!"
