Other retail outlets expanding
The E-ZPass Walk-In Center on Grand Island is one of three in New York that will go out of service on Friday, June 8.
The New York State Thruway Authority announced Tuesday the walk-in center at 2293 Grand Island Blvd. will close, as well as centers in Albany and Syracuse. Centers in Nanuet, Yonkers, Queens and Staten Island will remain open.
The closing of these locations is part of an effort "to improve efficiency and lower costs," NYSTA said in a press release. Closing the three locations will result in a $1 million annual savings, NYSTA claims.
