State Sen. George D. Maziarz, R-C-Newfane, reports that he was selected as the recipient of the 2011 John Daly Memorial Award as Legislator of the Year by the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs. Maziarz was awarded this honor in recognition of his outstanding service to the conservation and sportsmen movements.

"I am truly humbled and honored to receive this award from the Niagara County Federation," Maziarz said. "I have always been a strong supporter of the sportsmen and women in my district and I will continue to support their efforts in Albany. I thank the Niagara Federation for this most appreciated award."

"I have been a Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs Officer and Delegate for the past 15 years," said Niagara County Federation member John Butcher. "In that time period, I have asked State Senator Maziarz for his support on numerous issues affecting hunting, conservation and the Second Amendment. He has always supported us, and is the elected leader the federation depends on to champion our causes locally and in Albany."

Maziarz was honored with this award at the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs annual banquet in Lockport.
