Community Missions of Niagara Frontier Inc. will once again present its annual "Gospel Fest." This year's event takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 27. The program will be held at First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls.

Doors open for seating at 6:30 p.m. Gospel Fest is a family-friendly event that is open to the public.

Admission is free. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to Community Missions' food pantry. A reception with light refreshments follows the program. A free-will offering will be taken to help support the work of Community Missions, which includes a homeless shelter, food pantry, soup kitchen, parole re-entry, HIV/AIDS and other needed services.

Gospel Fest serves as one of the two main annual awareness events of the CMI Music Partnerships Program. (The other is the annual CMI Christmas CD.) The event features performances by church choirs, soloists and bands from around the Niagara Region. This is the third year it is held at the First Assembly of God.

This year's performers include:

  • Anointed Voices of Praise (Christ Redemption Tabernacle, Niagara Falls)
  • Revelation (St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Tonawanda)
  • Mount Erie Male Chorus (Mount Erie Baptist Church, Niagara Falls)
  • Nocturnal Project (Buffalo)
  • LeVern Durham & The Dominion Community Choir (Buffalo)
  • Sharifah (Buffalo)
  • Joanne Lorenzo (The Magdalene Project, Niagara Falls)

There are opportunities to sponsor Gospel Fest. Sponsorship dollars help CMI in this effort to raise awareness in the community about the agency's many services, as well as provide services to those in need. Potential sponsors can find complete information at the Gospel Fest website or by contacting Katie Trombley at 716-285-3403, ext. 2225, or [email protected]. Sponsorship opportunities begin for as little as $25.
