George Edwards honored for service to Niagara Catholic High School

At a March meeting of the board of trustees of Niagara Catholic Jr./Sr. High School, George D. Edwards, owner of George Edwards Jewelers, was honored for his years of dedication and commitment to the school.

Judi Nolan-Powell, chairwoman of the board of trustees (right), and Robert M. DiFrancesco, principal (not pictured), presented Edwards with a plaque commemorating his tireless efforts on behalf of Niagara Catholic.

Edwards, a 1971 graduate of Duffy, has served on the Niagara Catholic board of trustees since 2001. He has served as chairperson of the advancement committee, as a member of the executive committee, marketing outreach committee, the golf tournament committee and as chairperson of the annual Duffy Dance. He with his wife, Kathy, served as chair couple for the Mardi Gras Dinner and Auction. 

Edwards is also a volunteer at Lakefest, which benefits Mercy Flight.
