Assemblyman John D. Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, today attended the first in a series of meetings to discuss plans for the development of the Lehigh Valley Rail Yard.

"Today's meeting was very productive, and it's good to see that all the stakeholders involved in redeveloping the site are focused on turning this location into a transportation hub," Ceretto said. "The movement of people, goods and services is an essential part of today's economy, and by transforming this site into a transportation center, we can lay the groundwork for future economic development and job growth."

Stakeholders attending today's meeting included Ceretto; Samuel Ferraro, commissioner of the Niagara County Center for Economic Development; Richard Palladino, business manager for Local 91; and representatives from the Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation Council, Niagara County, the City of Niagara Falls, New York State Department of Transportation, and the Niagara Frontier Transportation Agency.
