Memory wellness programs throughout Western New York for Brain Awareness Week

The Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, will holding special programming for Brain Awareness Week March 12 to 18 throughout the eight counties of Western New York. Each session will feature one of the Alzheimer's Association Power Your Memory classes - "Food for Thought," "Memory Tips," and "What Research Suggests." The BAW programming will end with a guest speaker, Dr. Susan E. Mason, who will present a workshop on "Understanding and Improving Your Memory."

BAW programming will be held in:

•Olean on March 12, 1 to 3 p.m., at Jamestown Community College - Cattaraugus Campus, 260 N. Union St. "Power Your Memory: Food for Thought" will be presented.

•Belmont on March 12, 6 to 8 p.m., at Allegany County Office for the Aging, 6085 State Route 19 N., Belmont. "Power Your Memory: Memory Tips" will be presented.

•Warsaw on March 13, 1 to 3 p.m., at Wyoming Works Learning Center, 29 N. Main St. "Power Your Memory: What Research Suggests" will be presented.

•LeRoy on March 13, 5 to 7 p.m., at Garden View Adult Social Day Care, 124 E. Main St. "Power Your Memory: Memory Tips" will be presented.

•Albion on March 14, 3 to 5 p.m., at Albion Academy Senior Living, South Entrance, 16 E. Academy St. "Power Your Memory: Food for Thought" will be presented.

•Jamestown on March 15, 1 to 3 p.m., at Jamestown Community College - Jamestown Campus, Carnahan Building, 525 Falconer St. "Power Your Memory: What Research Suggests" will be presented.

•Sanborn on March 19, 6 to 8 p.m., at Niagara County Community College, 3111 Saunders Settlement Road. "Power Your Memory: What Research Suggests" will be presented.

•Williamsville on March 21, 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Alzheimer's Association, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Suite 6. "Understanding and Improving Your Memory" will be presented by Mason, a professor of psychology at Niagara University.
