Who is behind the music of Marty Party? Born in South Africa, but now living in Brooklyn, Marty Party has been producing his own music since 2005. His music is a new twist on the monotony of electronic music. It is not just about the sound, but goes into more storytelling in the songs. His music has a variation of hip-hop, dub step and dance music mixed into a rich sound he calls "Purple."

Marty Party is coming to Soundlab on Tuesday, Feb. 21, along with Perceptor and Papi Chulo. The show kicks off at 8 p.m. and tickets are available for $12 for this 18-and-up show. Soundlab is located on 110 Pearl St., Buffalo.

Marty Party is not what you would call a "jockey" and he does not use "discs." Marty Party always plays a live set. Now, there has been more than 50 tracks released by the artist, and his shows are a high energy dance party you can feel. The goal of his performance is to give the audience a totally unique experience.

Having Marty Party come to Buffalo is a great opportunity to experience a new form of music and expand what you know. It gives a chance to see how a subculture exists. So if you want to go out this Tuesday, come see Marty Party at the Soundlab in Buffalo and experiences the sound he calls purple.
