The Niagara-Wheatfield Community Education Program is offering several classes for the inspiring gardener and floral arranger.

This season's offerings include "Hostas and Daylilies - America's Two Favorite Perennials," "Bonsai - Make It Take It!" Marli Palermo, owner of Marli's Floral and Gift Shop in Niagara Falls, will teach about beginner floral design and making a fresh flower alstromeria topiary or an Easter centerpiece.

Palermo is looking forward to sharing her 14 years of experience with students.

"I think participants are going to learn a lot," she said. "We are going to start with beginning techniques and use artificial and real flowers so they see how they are used differently. Then, we are going to do seasonal arrangements for holidays like Mother's Day and Easter. I think everyone will have a lot of fun and marvel at what they created."
