The Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. has announced that Niagara USA has been selected to host the 2015 International Snowmobile Congress, a major international convention aimed at bringing together snowmobiling stakeholders from across the globe. Niagara Falls competed with Sweden to procure the June 9 to 15, 2015, ISC.

The convention, which will be hosted by the New York State Snowmobile Association, is expected to attract more than 350 attendees, which will result in 1,175 total room nights, with 275 rooms booked on peak night. Approximately 70 percent of convention attendees will be traveling from the U.S., with the remainder coming from Russia, Poland, Sweden and Canada. Some of the groups that will be in attendance include: National Snowmobile Association, the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations and the Iron Dog Brigade.

"The ability for the NTCC to secure and attract national and international conventions and meetings such as the International Snowmobile Congress is in line with our goal of marketing Niagara USA on a global scale," said John H. Percy, president and CEO of the NTCC. "We look forward to hosting this event in Niagara USA and hope that our agency can continue to secure such conferences to the region in the future."

NYSSA is the largest snowmobilers group in the U.S. and one of the largest in the world.

"On behalf of our 135,000 members, I want to congratulate the Niagara Tourism and Convention Corporation on securing the 2015 International Snowmobile Congress," said Gary Broderick, president of the New York State Snowmobile Association. "We are thrilled to be hosting this international conference right here in the Empire State and to continue to remind New Yorkers of the tremendous impact the sport of snowmobiling has on our state's economy."

The event will be held at The Conference Center Niagara Falls and the rooms are expected to be booked at the Sheraton at the Falls.

In 2011, the ISC was held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and in 2012 it will be held in Massachusetts.
