The Center for the Arts, University at Buffalo, will present "Kaleidescopika" on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, located at the Center for the Arts, North Campus.

In a dazzling, sensory experience, LehrerDance, one of Western New York's premier professional dance companies joins forces with chamber music quartet Cordis to unveil "Kaleidescopika": "the art of unfolding." In this new production, LehrerDance and Cordis offer a sight and sound experience that melds the athleticism of dance, the excitement of multimedia, and the euphoria of music into one performance.

LehrerDance is an inspiring and innovative contemporary dance company based in Buffalo. Under the direction of Jon Lehrer, the company showcases unique choreography and embodies his definitive style. Lehrer's extensive background in both the modern and jazz dance idioms fosters choreography that is organic, artistic, accessible and often humorous, reflecting life experience and the human condition,

For more than a decade, the contemporary quartet Cordis has been redefining contemporary chamber music by fusing an original combination of custom-made and traditional ethnic instruments to create its signature sound. Traditional instruments such as the cello, piano and percussion are paired with one-of-a-kind creations such as the electric mbira, melodica, and the world's longest playing cylinder-driven music box. Intriguing instrumentation and a unique perspective on 21st century chamber music weave their way into any given performance.
