Hard Rock "drops" 10-foot Gibson guitar to ring in 2012

Special performance by the Wailers

Rock in the new year at Hard Rock Café Niagara Falls, USA. On Saturday, Dec. 31, Old Falls Street becomes the "Times Square of Western New York," as the Hard Rock hosts the city's third annual New Year's Eve Guitar Drop. Fans will be able to count down to 2012 as a 10-foot Gibson guitar, painted by local artist Rob Lynch and illuminated by Ken-Ton Electronics, is lowered 120 feet onto Old Falls Street at midnight.

That evening, Hard Rock will also feature a headlining live performance by international recording artists, and the band of reggae legend Bob Marley, the Wailers. Also performing is the 2010 Hard Rock "Battle of the Bands" winners More Than Me (from Western New York) and Outernational (from New York City).

Outdoor festivities will include the free concert, food and beverage concessions, and a fireworks display at midnight. The "Guitar Drop Countdown" will be lead by guest host and Buffalo Sabres alum Danny Gare.

VIP ticket packages include access to Hard Rock's heated VIP tent, a deluxe buffet, beverages and front-of-stage access. Hard Rock Café Niagara Falls, USA, extends a special thank you to event partners: City of Niagara Falls, Seneca Niagara Casino, Old Falls Street and the Gibson Family of Brands.
