The City of Lockport is announcing that extra-capacity tags/stickers (for refuse) will be sold at the city clerk's office starting today. These tags/stickers will be sold for $2 per tag and will cover properly sealed and marked bags that are no larger than 30 gallons and/or 30 pounds placed out for collection.

Extra capacity tags/stickers are only available to residential program participants. Proper use instructions are included on each sticker. The city's refuse hauler is instructed to only collect properly placed refuse carts and properly marked extra bags.

Extra bulk item tags/stickers will also be sold at the city clerk's office for a fee of $10 per tag/sticker, for use during bulk collection week only. Each parcel is permitted a maximum number of five bulk Items per month. Bulk tags/stickers will only be sold to residential program participants. Bulk collection is the first full week of each month. The next bulk collection cycle is Tuesday, Jan. 3, through Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, to account for the holiday.

Additional recycling shall be placed in clear plastic bags next to your recycling cart, and does not require an extra-capacity tag/sticker.
