Grand Island High School's National Honor Society held its annual spaghetti dinner on Nov. 18 prior to the Friday night performance of the Spotlighters drama club production of "Don't Drink the Water."

The spaghetti dinner is the main fundraiser of the year for the GI NHS, said the group's advisor Kevin Murray. Money from the dinner helps fund the induction ceremony, scholarships, and purchase of the gold tassels honor society members wear at graduation in June.

Murray noted that the school's "Treats for Troops" campaign is ongoing and runs until Dec. 4. Donors can buy a box of cookies to be sent to service personnel overseas. Also, a raffle fundraiser is under way, with 400 tickets available to win a Nintendo Wii system, with a winner selected Dec. 16.
