The fate of Nik Wallenda's proposed wirewalk over the Niagara Gorge is in the hands of the Niagara Parks Commission, but Jim Diodati figures it can't hurt to take the American daredevil's case right to the top.
The Niagara Falls mayor is a fervent supporter of Wallenda's proposition and plans to discuss it with Premier Dalton McGuinty, who will be in town Friday to Sunday for the Ontario Liberal Party Provincial Council, a post-election gathering expected to attract more than 400 delegates to the Scotiabank Convention Centre. Diodati will be speaking to the meeting Friday evening and hopes to grab a few moments with McGuinty to discuss Wallenda and "a few other issues."
