Celebrating 101 years

Helen Milleville, a resident at The McGuire Group's Northgate Health Care Facility in Wheatfield will celebrate her 101 birthday on Nov. 22. 

Born and raised in the Niagara-Wheatfield area, she had three brothers and four sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. She worked at Carborundum for a short time and then as a key punch operator at Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls for more than 30 years.

Milleville was very active at St. James Lutheran Church and directed weekly Sunday school and Bible studies. She and a sister would even pick up the children at their homes so they could attend Sunday school. She went to Minneapolis Bible Institute, was in a ladies group at her church and a quilting club. She also hosted Bible study camps in the summer.

At one time, she also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for numerous guests, including hosting many baby and bridal showers and birthday parties. She traveled to the Holy Land, Germany and Switzerland.
