New York production will host a canned food drive in November

"Million Dollar Quartet," the hit musical, announces a national partnership with non-profit organization Operation Homefront, which will include all three U.S. productions of the award-winning musical (including Chicago and New York). "Million Dollar Quartet" will engage in a series of special promotions and fundraising efforts that will benefit Operation Homefront, an organization that is dedicated to helping the families of this nation's service members and wounded warriors.

To celebrate this partnership, the New York production of "Million Dollar Quartet" will host a canned food drive the week of Nov. 28, which will benefit and support Operation Homefront veterans in need during this holiday season. Patrons who donate a canned food item will receive $10 off one regular-priced ticket for performances on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 (Note: donations will be accepted all week). All donations must be made in person at the New World Stages Box Office (340 50th St., between 8th and 9th avenues.) to receive the discount. Representatives from Operation Homefront will be on hand to help with the final day of collections.

The international smash hit musical, "Million Dollar Quartet" is set on Dec. 4, 1956, when an auspicious twist of fate brought together Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley. Sam Phillips, the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" who was responsible for launching the careers of each icon, brought the four legendary musicians together at the Sun Records storefront studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The resulting evening became known as one of the greatest rock 'n' roll jam sessions in history.

"Million Dollar Quartet" brings that legendary night to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations featuring an eclectic score of rock, gospel, R&B and country hits, including; "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "Sixteen Tons," "Who Do You Love?," "Great Balls of Fire," "Matchbox," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and "Hound Dog."

"Just as the teamwork of these four music legends brought out the best of their individual talents for a truly remarkable performance, today's 'Million Dollar Quartet' is using their talent and generosity to bring out the best of its audiences to help Operation Homefront better serve our nation's military families," said Jim Knotts, Operation Homefront's president and CEO.

"Before gaining international success, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash both served in the armed forces. This partnership is something that is near and dear to the heart of the show and the characters portrayed," said the producers of "Million Dollar Quartet." "It is a true honor for us to give back to those who have given us so much."
